The most common cause for this error is an expired account or incorrect login.
- DENIED_BLANK means your system is supplying a blank or bad password. Follow instructions for clearing caches, cookies, auto-complete, temporary internet files, etc.
- DENIED_BAD_PASSWORD means either your membership has expired or your login is not being entered correctly. DO NOT keep entering in an incorroct login or you will be blocked for ten hours. Check your expiration date, verify your login using the form above, turn off your CAPS LOCK key, or delete your browser's temporary internet files, clear auto-complete & password lists and caches.
- DENIED_DAP may also mean you have exceeded the amount of allowable incorrect logins (25 in 15 minutes.) That is, you have entered an incorrect login too many times. Your membership may have expired, your login may not be entered in correctly, or your stored login is possibly corrupted on your system. Check your expiration date, turn off your CAPS LOCK key, or delete your browser's temporary internet files and cookies or try to "unsave password" on your system. This site does not send cookies, rather your system may try to remember logins for you if enabled on your end.
- DENIED_REQ means you have exceeded the amount of allowable file requests in a one hour period (1000). Your login will be temporarily disabled for the remainder of the day. There should never be a need to request 1000 webpages in a single hour unless you are downloading the entire site with mass downloading software which is against our Terms of Service.
Download sample story to make sure your system can handle zip files.
If your system fails, go to winzip.com, get their free version of winzip, run it's setup program, then try downloading the sample story again.
Test your system's ability to provide a valid login-
for the username enter Test
for the password enter AbCd4
(TEST, test, ABCD4, abcd4 WILL NOT WORK)
If your system cannot send the login properly, READ THIS
If the test above is successful but your login still does not work, perform the following:
-Turn off or clear your browser's "Auto Complete". You can find this setting in your browser's preferences/options, usually under "Tools/Internet Options/Content/AutoComplete". Click on "Clear Forms" and "Clear Passwords".
-Delete all Temporary Internet Files and cookies. You can find this setting in your browser's preferences/options, usually under "Tools/Internet Options/General.
-After performing the above steps, try your login again using COPY/PASTE. When you verified your login above, you received an email. In that email, highlight your "username". Be sure their are no trailing spaces. Right click on the highlighted text and click on "copy." Go to the login box requesting your username, right click and click "paste". This will place an exact copy into the username field box. Do the same for "password".
